CONCEPTIONS REPRODUCTIVE ASSOCIATES IS THE FIRST IN COLORADO TO TEST ALL 24 CHROMOSOMES WITH HIGH RELIABILITY

Littleton, Co. — Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) includes a variety of treatment options such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) which have helped thousands of previously infertile couples to conceive. Screening embryos for chromosome errors has been shown to improve a couple’s chances of conceiving and delivering a health baby through in-vitro fertilization (IVF). This may be particularly important for women above the age of 35, women with a prior history of miscarriage, and women that have had an unsuccessful IVF cycle. Of late, many news stories have focused on several strategies to achieve this goal that have fallen short and have proven to be unreliable. The first technique used, called FISH (fluorescent in situ hybridization), involves analysis of only 9 chromosomes – but this leaves 15 of 24 human chromosomes unchecked. A newer technique is comparative genomic hybridization or CGH. While this is able to check all 24 chromosomes, it takes up to five days to perform so that a couple must freeze their embryos and transfer them at a later date.

Conceptions is partnering with Gene Security Network to bring patients a new and advanced technology: single nucleotide polymorphism microarray analysis with the critical addition of Parental SupportTM bioinformatics technology. Parental SupportTM achieves a high degree of accuracy(1) by incorporating genetic data from the parents derived from DNA collected through a simple cheek swab.

The test has rapid turnaround allowing a woman to have an embryo transfer in the same cycle that she undergoes IVF. Conceptions is pleased to be the only group in Colorado, and one of five leading IVF centers in the country, to first offer this cutting edge technology later this year.

About Gene Security Network:

Gene Security Network (GSN) specializes in combining bioinformatic analysis with leading laboratory techniques to deliver highly accurate full-genome testing on small quantities of biological material. GSN’s proprietary testing technology, called Parental SupportTM, will be used for preimplantation genetic diagnosis to guide doctors in screening embryos for disease susceptibility during in-vitro fertilization. The company and their testing laboratory are based out of Redwood City, California. For more information please visit www.genesecurity.net.

Now Enrolling for IVF Infertility Study

Conceptions is one of six centers in the United States to participate in a research study for IVF.

We are currently recruiting women for an Open Label Study to evaluate two different FDA approved drugs in women under-going IVF. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 42 years, with a history of infertility requiring IVF. If you are interested in participating or would like more information please click on the link below.

Now Enrolling for IVF Egg Freezing Study

The purpose of this study is to investigate vitrification of human oocytes (eggs) as a way to allow for long-term storage and future use. Vitrification is a rapid freezing method.

The success of oocyte vitrification will be determined by the ability of the vitrified oocytes to:

  • Be fertilized with human sperm,
  • Be cultured through embryo development,
  • Be transferred to a recipient,
  • Succeed in future pregnancy.

We will compare the vitrified eggs with fresh eggs that will be handled in the same way.

The goal of this study is to see if oocyte vitrification is a feasible technique to avoid the production of extra, and possibly unwanted, embryos in IVF/ART procedures. Another goal is to see if oocyte vitrification will allow patients faced with cancer treatments that can cause sterilization to have an option for fertility preservation.

To see if you qualify for the studies please contact our IVF RN cooridnator at 303.738.5313.

Now Enrolling For PCOS IVF Study

Conceptions is one of 5 centers in the United States conducting a research study. We are currently recruiting women for an Open Label Study to evaluate two different FDA approved drugs in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Participants must be between the ages of 18-42, Premenopausal female, Documented history of infertility, Diagnosed with PCOS.

Additional screening will be conducted to determine if a patient is eligible to participate. Women who qualify and undergo an IVF treatment cycle will receive a reduction in IVF fees and a discount on the IVF medications.
