Laurie Johnson, MSN, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner joins Conceptions with 23 years of nursing experience. She attended nursing school at Gardner Webb University in North Carolina and joined the military on graduation day in 1989. A successful U.S. Air Force career officer, she recently retired from active duty service as a Lieutenant Colonel. During her years in the Air Force she had many various nursing opportunities including flight nursing, pediatrics, hyperbarics, med/surg, labor and delivery and a humanitarian trip to Nicaragua. She has lived overseas and all over the United States and has traveled extensively. She was selected for a full scholarship master’s degree program at University of Florida to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and graduated in 2002. She is board certified and has practiced full scope women’s health since then and even managed the women’s health clinics at her last two bases. She was selected as U.S. Air Force Academy's Nurse Practitioner of the year in 2005 and Air Combat Command Nurse Practitioner of the Year in 2007. Laurie has always had a special interest in reproductive endocrinology and infertility; and has sought out additional medical training in this area. She is an associate member of (ACOG) American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a fellow member of (ASCCP) American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and a member of (NPWH) Nurse Practitioner’s in Women’s Health. She is married to her college sweetheart and has three children. She is active in her church - New Covenant Fellowship, and enjoys biking, hiking, skiing, camping and all other outdoor activities which is why she and her family have decided to make Colorado their home.
