The
egg donation process consists of several steps. Initial steps are designed to
determine your eligibility for the program, while the remaining steps primarily
involve egg production and retrieval.
How To Become An Egg Donor:
- If you meet the preliminary
requirements for donor
qualification, contact us
to obtain an information packet or complete an online
donor application.
- Once you have completed a donor application, Conceptions will review
it. If you qualify, an onsite consultation will then be scheduled to go over
your information, conduct a psychological interview, and be sure you understand
the commitment and risk involved.
- If eligible, you will then be enrolled in the Conceptions Donor Egg Program.
Once You Become An Egg Donor:
- You will be given
fertility medications over the course of 7-10 days to stimulate the production
of multiple eggs. During this time, your progress will be evaluated by frequent
blood levels and ultrasounds to ensure the eggs' proper development.
- Once your eggs and
hormones reach optimum levels, you will receive a different medication called
HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) to bring the eggs to final maturity.
- Approximately 36 hours
following the HCG injection, you will undergo egg retrieval via follicular
aspiration. This involves the use of a hollow, ultrasound-guided needle to
gently remove the eggs from the follicular sacs of the ovaries. You will receive
light IV sedation during this procedure and should experience little to no
discomfort.
- Upon completion of the egg
donation process, you will receive compensation for your time and generosity.
