Andy and I met on the Track and Field team at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After several years of dating we got married in 2004. I decided to wait and have children till I was done competing professionally in Track and Field. As my career in athletics wound down Andy and I started preparing to have a baby. After five months of trying I found out I was pregnant with a baby boy!
The pregnancy wasn't without complications. In 2009 I had my son at 32 1/2 weeks, most likely due to a large uterine fibroid. He had to spend time in the NICU, but was otherwise healthy. Schuyler is my little miracle!

We always planned on having another baby, a sibling for Schuyler. I had surgery to remove the fibroid eight months after giving birth to Schuyler. The surgery was successful so we started trying to conceive as soon as I recovered from the surgery. After three miscarriages we came to Conceptions and met with Dr. Swanson.
After several tests Dr. Swanson recommended IVF. He gave us about a 20% chance using my own eggs. We decided to try. We went through our first round of IVF in February which was unsuccessful. With the information from the IVF cycle Dr. Swanson gave us our options. Do to the quality of my eggs he offered a 10% chance that it would work. Our other option was to use a donor egg. After much thought and reflection we decided to try with a donor. We hope and pray this cycle will be successful and our dreams will be realized.
