Simone Elder
MD
Dr. Simone Elder is deeply committed to women’s health and reproductive medicine. She began her academic journey at Rice University, where she completed an Honors Thesis in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and was recognized as a Gates Millennium Scholar. Her passion for global health took her to India, China, and South Africa, where she gained firsthand experience in international women’s health initiatives.
She went on to earn her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College, where multiple honors distinguished her achievements. Among them were the Gustav Seligmann Prize for Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowships awarded by the National Medical Foundation. As a senior medical student, the Association of American Medical Colleges named her a Franklin C. McLean NMF Scholar, highlighting her academic excellence, leadership, and service to the community.
Dr. Elder pursued her residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell, where she was honored with a teaching award for her dedication to education. She then advanced her training through a fellowship at the University of Colorado, where her research contributions earned her recognition, including support through the NIH Loan Repayment Program.
Today, Dr. Elder practices in Colorado. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, visiting museums, skiing, and reading.
